National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is the Commerce Department agency that forecasts the weather, monitors the climate and oceans, manages fisheries and marine resources, charts the nation’s waters and operates the satellites that feed much of that work. Its line offices include the National Weather Service, the National Marine Fisheries Service, the National Ocean Service, the Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research and the satellite and information service, with forecast offices, laboratories and fisheries science centers across the country.
