Summary
This is a detail NTE 120 days Incumbent will serve as the full Deputy to the Chief of Environmental Management Service. S/he plans, coordinates, provisions, and directs the Kansas City VA Medical Center's ongoing Environmental Management Service.
Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to the following: Developing local policies, regulations, and policies pertaining to facility environmental management, as well as mission statements, performance standards and functional and organizational charts as they apply to the service. Evaluating new policies and directives to determine the impact on Environmental Management Services. Assisting in conducting tests and experiments of housekeeping products and equipment to determine which are better and most cost effective. Developing, implementing, and monitoring service-specific customer service standards; ensuring EMS employees are trained in appropriate aspects of customer satisfaction, quality assurance and performance improvements. Overseeing and directing the daily activities of EMS to include appropriate cleaning and sanitation of all offices, concourses, seating areas, washrooms, canteen, operating rooms, patient care areas and all public spaces within the Medical Center. Overseeing and providing technical expertise for the design, modification, operation, and maintenance of the facility and infrastructure to ensure compliance with environmental management requirements.
