The primary purpose of this position is to perform professional laboratory duties and to calibrate, operate, and maintain analytical chemistry instrumentation for the department head and faculty of the Department of Systems Engineering and Management.

Duties

1. Assist with educational activities. Give instruction on the operation and maintenance of instruments for educational activities supporting both research and teaching. 2. Manage hazardous material. Ensure safe storage, handling, and use of hazardous materials including chemical, biological, and radiological materials. 3. Asset management. Maintain accurate, real-time records of all equipment, including purchase dates, location, serial numbers, and maintenance history using appropriate software and/or databases. 4. Development of experimental methods. Assist with the development of experimental methods for the analysis of specimens or environmental (e.g. water) samples.
