***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below.*** You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the C51 SYSTEMS DIVISION (CODE 290), ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT (CODE 200) of NAVAL SHIP REPAIR FACILITY.

Duties

You will serve as the Navigation (NAV) Systems Specialist resident expert and technical authority on assigned navigational systems and subsystems for all ships assigned to/operating in the Seventh Fleet Area of Responsibility.

You will provide technical and engineering services in the performance, operation, maintenance, Depot Level repair and modernization, system testing/certification and Fleet Technical Support of assigned navigational systems.

You will provide technical oversight, management and direction to a highly diversified workforce.

You will resolve technical problems, usually consisting of multiple engineering disciplines including but not limited to digital data transmission principles, navigation systems and data interfaces, digital and fiber optic switchboards, etc.

You will support the ships maintenance teams and SRF-JRMC engineering department by providing onsite resolution and/or correction of production, performance, or quality deficiencies on assigned systems.

You will provides immediate authoritative technical assistance/training to ships force personnel on urgent mission degrading casualties (CASREPS) or similar problems affecting the overall operability of systems and ships combat readiness.

ICTAP Applicants: To be considered well-qualified and exercise selection priority as an ICTAP candidate, displaced Federal employees must satisfy all qualification requirements for the position and receive a rating in the highly qualified category (score 85) or higher.
