Summary

About the Position: Design and maintain as well as providing technical assistance, review, mentoring, training and authoritative consultation services covering automated control system architectures, designs, control hardware and software configurations, life-cycle maintenance, and cyber security and reliability compliance for hardware and software components on data acquisition and control systems.

Duties

Serve as a specialist in the field of data acquisition and control hardware and software equipment and auxiliary systems used in hydroelectric powerhouses and flood risk management facilities.

Responsible for the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning, organizing, developing and execution of the design of data acquisition and control system related to hydroelectric projects, both existing and new.

Perform or direct the performance of special technical studies and analysis of powerhouse specialized data acquisition and control system installations

Use plant operations, marketing agency requirements, and system requirements to specify, administer contracts, and debug new and completed hardware and software installation as required to execute new functionality and life-cycle maintenance.

Analyze and evaluate methods and techniques developed by others, make recommendations regarding their application and implement life-cycle modifications and new automation and cyber security technology.

Serve as national agency expert on automated data acquisition and control systems primarily for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation’s hydropower facilities.
