Summary
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as project engineer in charge of one or more construction projects in support of the District's classified missions.
Duties
Coordinate the review of shop drawings to determine conformance with construction plans.
Direct surveillance of construction to assure that contractor is conducting quality control operations to produce work in conformance with plans and specifications.
Provide technical assistance and advice for resolution of complex problems.
Discuss details of construction with contractor’s personnel to ensure mutual understanding of the project requirements.
Serve as coach, facilitator, and/or negotiator in coordinating team initiatives and in consensus building activities among team members .
Maintain liaison with and participate constantly in discussions with using agency and contractor representatives on matters of safety, post regulations, coordination of utility outages, and progress of the work.
Education
