Summary
About the Position: Serves as a Logistics Management Specialist in the Special Requirements Branch of the Domestic Movement Operations Division, Operations directorate, Military Surface Distribution and Deployment Command.
Duties
Incumbent ensures Army Transportation Command responsiveness to the need for operational readiness as identified by senior leadership and under any type of sustainment operation, planning contingency, national emergency or wartime situations.
Provides technical advice and readiness under any type of planning contingency for movement of forces, sustainment cargo and non-DOD sponsored cargo moving throughout CONUS.
Maintains working knowledge of current commercial international transportation and logistics services and trends.
Reviews on a continuous basis all OPLANS to identify plan based logistics requirements for fort-to-port movement and related industry capacity.
Participates in DOD, Joint Service, and/or Government and industry working groups chartered to develop deployment and distribution initiatives focused on transportation and related traffic management services.
Serves as the Domestic proponent for Essential Task development, synchronization and implementation.
