Duties
The primary purpose of this position: To serve as a Missile Defense (MD) Specialist in the Missile Defense division of USNORTHCOM J3. The incumbent manages the Homeland Missile Defense Asset Management Program, overseeing the planning, scheduling, maintenance, and configuration of missile defense assets. This position monitors missile defense systems, supports the development and integration of future homeland missile defense capabilities, and contributes to the planning and execution of the missile defense mission within the USNORTHCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR). Additionally, the incumbent trains, certifies, and serves as a Missile Defense Officer in the NORAD and USNORTHCOM Joint Operations Center (N/NC JOC) Duties : Serves as the principal manager for global Missile Defense Asset Management (AM) and Configuration Control Management (CCM), directing the integration, maintenance, and operational readiness of all missile defense systems and associated assets to ensure continuous mission effectiveness and support for national defense objectives. Certifies and maintains qualification as a Missile Defense Officer (MDO) and Evaluator in the N/NC JOC, AJOC, and USNORTHCOM's higher strategic contingency mission to lead the operation of the nation's Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) system. Plans, develops, and executes MD capabilities across a wide spectrum of National and Defense Department level documents to include strategic planning guidance, OPLAN and CONPLAN, Joint Strategic Capabilities Planning, Unified Command Plan, and Integrated Priority Lists to ensure the Homeland is adequately defended against missile threats. Represents USNORTHCOM J3 (General Officer/Flag Officer) and USNORTHCOM J31 (O6) at meetings, symposia, and site visits related to BMD System maintenance, RDT&E scheduling, BMD planning for Homeland Defense.
