Duties
As a SUPERVISORY PHYSICAL SCIENTIST at the GS-1301-15 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as the RD-CBP Chief; responsible for supervising activities within the Division to plan, coordinate, integrate, implement, and evaluate research programs in the broad area of chemical and biological force protection, response and recovery. Identifies technical and programmatic issues, initiates resolutions, and represents the CBP Division and DTRA in technical and programmatic discussions with counterpart managers across the interagency. Manages and directs a highly complex and technical chemical and biological defense (CBD) program, encompassing CBD Industry Programs, CBD Studies and Contractor Support influencing diverse missions and activities. Acts with broad authority to coordinate and integrate research activities that feed and facilitate acquisition programs within CBDP. Directs all actions necessary to implement research and development programs and monitors the critical transition between CB S&T programs and follow-on acquisition programs. Performs the full range of supervisory and personnel management duties for members of assigned team (military and civilian) Ensures appropriate stewardship of funding to include: develops and reviews Division budgetary and execution plans; develops and reviews supporting Statements of Work (SOW) and Procurement Requests (PRs), and support to the CBDP POM build cycle.
