The primary purpose of this position is to exercise supervisory and managerial authorities over the assigned organization. Responsible for performing professional engineering and management work in support of projects/programs pertaining to the organization.
Duties
1) Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. 2) Serves as technical advisor responsible for all systems engineering activities required for the assigned mission and/or the design, development, production, test, and support of assigned systems. Develops technical engineering and test/verifies plans which specify the objectives and means to fulfill mission and/or system requirements. 3) Evaluates contractors' technical proposals. Assembles and integrates the technical portions of Request for Proposals and system plans, utilizing inputs from other engineering specialists. Continually assesses contractor's efforts, performance progress, and resolution of technical problems. 4) Represents the organization with all levels of management, including functional counterparts, HQ AFMC, DoD, other federal agencies, industry partners and academia.
