Summary
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as Senior Construction Control Representative and Contracting Officers Representative (COR) for job site construction control of contract work for assigned military construction, civil works, or Work for Others (WFO) construction programs.
Duties
Determine whether all materials and equipment to be incorporated into finished job meet plans and specifications.
Ensure proper installation and workmanship, safety requirements, adherence to progress schedules, etc.
Review contractor's shop drawing details to ascertain adherence of the proposed work to contract requirements.
Work is primarily with solution of technical problems, controversial interpretation of design and/or installation details, proposed contract changes, and progress and payment estimate matters.
Review pre-bid plans and specifications for Biddability/ Constructability/Operability (BCO) on assigned contracts to determine practicality from a construction standpoint.
Review contractors' price proposals for additional work to be performed under the original contract and payment estimate items for consistency with actual job-site status of work.
Evaluate on-the-job construction progress to ensure that the contractor is maintaining satisfactory progress.
Education
